Silvery Oceanic Inspiration 🌊

Creating a Buffer Zone for Your Health

The ocean was a stunning silver for my morning swim today. The waves were infrequent, so I puttered around, marvelling at how cold my toes were while the rest of my body adapted. 🥶 It made me think about how agile and flexible our bodies are – not in a yoga sense; I am poor on that front, to say the least, although my yoga teachers always tell me there is “no good in yoga, just be where you are.” Well, where I am is akin to an inflexible 100-year-old. 🧘‍♀️ In the cold water, though, it’s a different matter; there I shine, my body sending blood to all my vital parts so I can putter around for quite a time.

❄️ A friend of mine, Graham Clarke, recently qualified to swim for the Frozen Ferns (yes, who knew there was such a thing) in the World Ice Swimming Championships, to be held in Romania in January. How cool – literally! Graham is a pretty lean guy and trains every day in Wānaka so his body can flex and adjust quickly to the cold. It’s a great story of how you can push your body in different ways; it’s not all about running Ironmans and doing headstands in yoga!

🌱 My mother-in-law, Rose, is an avid gardener and research shows that gardeners live longer! As we age, it’s about finding the activities you love doing to build your biological flexibility. I think of it like creating a buffer zone for your health. The buffer zone provides padding for when the inevitable challenges arrive. And of course they do arrive, in terms of viruses, bacteria, cakes and birthdays! 🎂

💚 Zestt products are designed to help you build a health buffer and improve your biological flexibility, whether that’s respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive or oral health. Each one is designed for the job it needs to do. So, here’s to that and plenty more morning swims and special wishes to Graham and the Frozen Ferns Team for January 🏊
